We believe Jesus is King of Kings and rules the whole universe. However, his rule is unlike what we witness so often. His reign is for our very best.
He meets us where we are today. Jesus is the most accepting person that ever walked this earth. He loved people that others hated. No-one was too bad to be welcomed. Jesus said that the important thing is to live with a clean heart and live in touch with God. Many people of different faiths try to emulate this but fall into legalism and self-righteousness. The reason for this is that we need a new heart, a radical change. Jesus claimed that belief in him would equate with being united with the Creator. Jesus claimed this authority because of his unique Sonship, as God in heaven.
Faith is not merely intellectual but actual in every aspect of our lives. Being accepted to a righteous God (an attribute that speaks of God's rightness in all He says and does) is only possible if God is able and willing to fundamentally change our lives, turn them completely around and put them on a new track. Those who think Jesus is misguided, even a liar are evidently continuing to live as they always have: on unchanged foundations. It is time to ask yourself what foundations am I building my life on.
